Yet Another Zombie Survivors Tier Lists

Rankings for a three-person bullet heaven, not a one-hero clone.

A tier list in Yet Another Zombie Survivors is always a squad list in disguise. You never pick one hero and disappear. You pick a leader perk, rescue two more bodies, and hope the guns do not fight each other. These pages rank pieces and then rank the trios those pieces form. 1.0 added Ranger and shuffled late-game ice and Fear, so older 2023 lists that parked Huntress at the bottom are historical documents, not loadouts.

Start with the survivor tier list if you are choosing a leader. Start with the weapon tier list if your dawn dies because the pistol never evolved. Start with best squads if you already own the roster and keep wiping at minute sixteen. The squad planner is the interactive version of the squad page.

How we rank

S: carries Default and Hardcore with average hands. A: excellent with a matching partner. B: map or mode specialist. C: needs ranks, items, or a joke run. We bias Isolated City through Bio Lab Default and Isolated City Hardcore, because that is what most players actually search. Deep Endurance past thirty minutes is a different sport; we call it out instead of pretending a dawn squad is a 45-minute lawnmower.

Leader perks count at full value. Rescue perks count at half. That is why SWAT as leader still beats a rescued SWAT behind a vanity starter. Ranks double perks. A rank 3 Engineer is not the same unit as the one you unlocked last night.

How to use the lists with the rest of the wiki

Unlock order is not tier order. Huntress is high A/S as a rescue long before she is your best leader. Ranger is a 1.0 S-potential with a C-feeling first night. Read how to unlock survivors before you rage that a silhouette is “low tier.” You do not have her yet.

Weapons evolve along exclusive lines. You will not own Assault Rifle and Grenade Launcher together. The weapon list tells you which line to finish. Best builds tells you which abilities to stack on that line. Items tells you when a chest is a trap. Training is the account board that makes every list look better.

Mode tags

Default dawn: value consistent guns and a shield. Hardcore: value speed and one screen-clear, then kite. Endurance: value cooldown, shield uptime, and a plan for one-shots after minute 30. Boss Rush (1.0): value burst for the minute-ten finale. One Hit: ignore HP nodes, take speed and delete. Bio Lab: value movement and Fear or shield because the ring is an extra enemy.

If a ranking disagrees with your 50-minute clip, you are probably better than the list. Send that clip at the Discord and keep your tree. These tiers exist so a new 1.0 buyer does not put Medic, Medic, Medic on Isolated City and then write a review about the genre.

Jump to survivors, weapons, or squads. Then take Isolated City to dawn with the boring S-tier trio. Fun experiments start after the badge.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What is the best squad right now?

SWAT, Engineer, and Tank for learning and Hardcore. Huntress replaces Tank when you want crit. See the squads page.

Do 2023 tier lists still work?

Not as gospel. Ranger, Mechanic ranks, and Bio Lab changed late-game. Use the 1.0 pages on this hub.

Should I pick the S-tier leader every run?

Until Hardcore is boring, yes. Then rank someone else so their perk doubles.
